Tech Companies Between Profit and Genocide: Google and Other Giants Fueling the War Machine on Gaza

Isa5K (1)

As Israel’s assault on Gaza escalates, the machinery of death is no longer limited to planes and tanks. It now extends into the digital sphere, where tech giants play a pivotal role in whitewashing crimes and polishing the image of the occupation. Google, Facebook/Meta, YouTube, Amazon, and Microsoft all face mounting accusations of direct or indirect complicity in the genocide against the Palestinian people.

Google: From Search Engine to Partner in Repression

Through Project Nimbus ($1.2 billion with Israel), Google and Amazon have provided the Israeli government with advanced cloud services that can be used for surveillance and military operations.
In 2025, Google signed a $45 million deal with Netanyahu’s office to promote official propaganda through YouTube and Google Ads—an effort to whitewash Israel’s image and deny atrocities in Gaza.
Meanwhile, repeated testimonies show the deletion of Palestinian content and suspension of journalists’ and activists’ accounts, strengthening accusations of censorship and bias.

Facebook/Meta: Algorithms Against Palestinians

For years, activists have accused Meta (Facebook, Instagram) of systematic censorship of Palestinian content. Human rights reports have documented the removal of thousands of posts related to Jerusalem or Gaza, while anti-Palestinian incitement remains online. These policies have been described as a form of digital discrimination that serves the occupation.

YouTube: A Platform That Polishes Israel’s Narrative

YouTube, owned by Google, is no longer just an entertainment platform. It has been used as a key propaganda tool in the contract with Netanyahu’s office, where millions of dollars were poured into ads portraying the war on Gaza as “self-defense.” Meanwhile, Palestinian journalists struggle to keep videos documenting massacres online without deletion or restriction.

Amazon: The Nimbus Partner

Through its role in Project Nimbus, Amazon provides Israel with powerful cloud technologies. U.S. and international human rights groups have held Amazon accountable for complicity in genocide, arguing that its technologies grant Israel unprecedented capabilities in control and surveillance.

Microsoft: Questionable Security Partnerships

Although less visible in media coverage, Microsoft maintains security contracts with Israel in fields such as artificial intelligence and data analysis. Multiple reports warn that these partnerships place Microsoft’s technologies in the hands of security agencies accused of committing war crimes.

Technology as a Weapon of War

These corporations are no longer “neutral” entities—they are part of the infrastructure of modern warfare:

Censorship and suppression: Silencing the Palestinian narrative.

Propaganda: Amplifying Israel’s story through paid advertisements.

Infrastructure: Providing advanced digital tools that empower the military and security apparatus.

From Business Partner to Accomplice in Crime

When corporations pour billions and deploy their technologies in support of a state accused of genocide, they cross the line from commerce into complicity. Remaining silent or justifying this under the guise of “neutrality” cannot hide the truth: these companies are helping perpetuate Palestinian suffering and placing profits above innocent lives.
