War on Gaza: Between U.S. Support and Israeli Execution

Amid scenes of bloodshed and devastation in Gaza, the International Union of Journalists and Writers declares its absolute rejection of global silence and condemns the U.S.–Israeli collusion in a blatant war of extermination that targets people, infrastructure, and the free word alike.

This war has already resulted in massive destruction and the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians, while the humanitarian situation worsens by the day. It has become clear that the United States’ unlimited support for Israel is a central factor in the continuation of this assault—whether through the supply of weapons or by wielding the veto in the UN Security Council to block any international efforts to enforce a ceasefire. Such actions provide Israel with political and diplomatic cover to persist in its crimes.

Meanwhile, the current Israeli government—widely recognized as extremist and deeply racist—continues to carry out systematic acts of genocide against the Palestinian people in both Gaza and the West Bank. Through deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure, the destruction of hospitals, schools, and homes, and the imposition of a suffocating blockade, Israel is inflicting unbearable suffering on millions. These actions are not mere “violations”; they amount to full-fledged war crimes and crimes against humanity, exposing the colonial and apartheid nature of the occupation and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe.

The Union warns of the orchestrated disinformation campaign led by certain states, foremost among them the United States, which seeks to invert facts, demonize voices of truth, and delegitimize defenders of human dignity. This campaign not only excuses the crimes of occupation but also targets journalists and activists who expose its atrocities. What is unfolding is no longer hidden: documented genocide, forced starvation, the deliberate killing of journalists and medics, and horrific scenes of children being slaughtered and their dreams crushed before the eyes of humanity—an affront to human conscience and an indictment of international silence.

Journalists and media professionals worldwide affirm that the United States is not merely a political and military supporter of Israel but the chief architect and driver of this asymmetrical war against an unarmed Palestinian people. By supplying weapons, diplomatic cover, and shielding Israel from accountability, Washington has made itself a full partner in crimes of extermination, displacement, and starvation committed daily in Gaza and the West Bank.

The International Union of Journalists and Writers urgently calls on the international community to take immediate and concrete action to:

End the bloodshed in Gaza and the West Bank without delay.

Ensure full protection for civilians, journalists, and medics, recognizing their targeting as a war crime.

Lift the unlawful blockade imposed on Gaza, a weapon of slow-motion genocide.

Guarantee the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to life, freedom, dignity, and sovereignty.

The Union further calls for a global grassroots movement that transcends fear and silence, raising the voice of human conscience above political and media pressures, until the ongoing genocide is brought to an end.

Recognizing the mounting pressures on the International Court of Justice and attempts to undermine its authority, the Union stresses the duty of the international community to support and empower the Court in prosecuting war criminals and holding all perpetrators accountable—without exception or impunity.

Finally, the Union demands that the U.S. government end its blatant double standards and abandon the hollow rhetoric of “democracy” and “human rights,” rhetoric that has been irreparably exposed by the blood of Gaza.
